The event

As usual, 60 people, 6 teams, 2 days, 1 beach. And you.

Co-ed hat. International players and women are most welcome. Not one single woman will be turned away (although we don't expect to turn away any boys either).

BULA (that's Beach Ultimate Lovers' Association) five a side rules apply (see http://www.beachultimate.org for more).

One field so everyone gets lots of watching and hanging in the sun.

Schedule

Festivities kick off Friday night with a "Meet and Greet" held at the Whangarei Heads Surf Life Saving Club starting at 6PM where a "Few" cold beers will be provided (first come first served). Dinner is not provided on Friday night so stop in Whangarei as you drive through - I recommend Amici on Quality Street.

Games kick off about 10:00 Saturday morning following the "Live" Hat Draw and breakfast. Lunch will be served on the beach at 1PM followed by more ocean side Ultimate. A BBQ dinner at 7PM in the club house will be followed by the World Famous Ocean Beach Ultimate Hat Party!!

Party Theme: To be announced (please provide suggestions), but it will be an R18 event for licensing reasons (either be 18 or over, or bring your mum - I hear she's amazing anyway).

Sunday morning breakfast will be served in the clubhouse followed by the last games of regular pool play. After lunch on Sunday the final showdown will take place between the top ranked teams. The rest of the day is then yours to enjoy the sunny Northland coast and play in the waves.

Getting there, staying there and stuff to do

Whangarei is about 2 and a half hours north from Auckland on State Highway 1. Have a look at a map.

Tent accommodation next to the beach is provided in your tournament fee so make sure you bring a tent. A limited number of bunk beds are available in the Clubhouse, but these fill up fast.

Ocean Beach and surrounds have great fishing and surfing too.

TBC, but includes 2 x breakfasts, 2 x lunches, Gourmet BBQ Steak dinner, Official Ocean Beach Schwag (T-Shirt and we're looking at getting frisbees too!), sunscreen, accomodation, memories, good times and good friends. It may or may not also include a hangover and sandy knickers.
